WILLIAM HOWELL

William E.Howell, 71 of  5 Ruthven Ave. died Saturday in St. Vincent Hospital after an illness.

Mr. Howell was a master mechanic at Perini Corp. in Framingham and then Barletta Construction Co. of Roslindale for many years, retiring in 1981.

He leaves his wife Jean E. (Patterson) Howell; two sons Gary E. Howell of Worcester and Alton T. Fleming of Northford, Conn.. two sisters Laura Tupper of Framingham and Grace Dube in Florida; seven grandchildren: a nephew and a niece.

He was born in Lexington, son of William F. and Marie A. (Archambault) Howell and lived here 29 years.

Mr. Howell mwas a member of Local 4, International Union of Engineers.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm tomorrow at Caswell-King Funeral Home, 474 Grove St.  The Rev. David Lee Murray will officiater.  Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.

Calling hours at the funeral home are 7 to 9 tonight.
