EVELYN M JAGIELSKI (PAYNE)

Evelyn Mae Jagielski (formerly Evelyn Mae Payne), 89, of Canfield, passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2025 at Heritage Manor in Youngstown, after an illness.

Evelyn was born in Millbury, Massachusetts in 1936. She was the daughter of Florence (Payne) Laurie and Colby Payne. She joined the Women’s Army Corp in 1955. There she met and married Alfred J. Jagielski, who was also in the military.

Besides her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband Alfred in 1992, and her son Alfred Jr. in 1999.

She is survived by her daughter Jane Jacques and son-in-law Mark Jacques. She has three grandchildren Andrew Jacques, Lin Jacques, and Leah Jacques.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, January 9, 2026 from 3:00-4:00 PM at Lane Funeral Home, Canfield Chapel. A Celebration of Life will be held at 4:00PM at the funeral home.

A Graveside Service will be held in the spring of 2026 at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton, Massachusetts.
