Ronald F. Carey, Sr., 85, of Leicester, passed away on Monday, September 8, 2025, at UMass Hospital in Worcester.
Ronald is survived by his loving wife of forty-five years, Alice L. (Galipeau) Carey; a daughter, Tammey L. Carey of Worcester; three sons, Ronald F. Carey, Jr. and his wife Debra of Brookfield, Paul C. Carey and his wife Tina of Millbury, and Ernest W. Carey and his wife Jennifer of Worcester; two stepdaughters, Susan A. Welch of Winston Salem, NC, and Debra Carey and her husband Ronald of Brookfield; a sister, Sharon Rivelli and her husband James of Leicester; two sisters in law, Phyllis Carey of Spencer and Evelyn Carey of Canada; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by four stepdaughters, Theresa M. Zak, Anita M. Gadbois, Lorie A. Gadbois, and Karon M. Gadbois; he was also predeceased by ten siblings, Phyllis Hedge, Arline Brenner, June Rice, Joseph, Dean, Frank, Ernest, George Gerald, and Paul Carey. Ronald was born in Worcester, son of the late Francis and Elizabeth (Bostwick) Carey. Ronald worked as a scrap bailer for thirty-nine years for Rand-Whitney Company, retiring in 2005. He was a member of Life Source Baptist Church. He was a “flea marketer” for over thirty-five years, and enjoyed cars shows, western movies, game shows, and Elvis. He was well-known for his ability to fix or repair almost anything he set his mind to. Calling Hours for Ronald will be on Wednesday, September 17, from 4 pm until 7 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. His Funeral will be on Thursday, September 18 at 10 am in MERCADATNE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Interment will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. |
