Jerilyn (Jeri) M Souther (Turner) died on Wednesday, August 20th, 2025 at her residence of Blaire House Worcester. She was 80 years old.
Jerilyn was born in Worcester, Massachusetts. She grew up on Marshall Street in Leicester MA with her Mother, Father, and three sisters Jo Ann, Darel, and Laurie. She was a lover of animals and from a young age she helped to take care of the family’s horses with her father. Her love of horses continued into adulthood. As an animal lover, she rescued many animals throughout the years, including her beloved greyhound, Bebe. Her career spanned over thirty years in the field of assisted living. She took immense pride in the fact that although she never received a college degree, she actually became a director of assisted living facilities. She was very respected in the field and was loved by many colleagues, coworkers, and friends. She built great relationships and made friends who became like family in the places she lived from West Palm Beach, Florida to Canandaigua, New York. Jeri brought joy and laughter wherever she went, particularly if music was involved.
Jeri is survived by her son Glenn Aho and his wife Cheryl, her daughter Laura Jackson and her daughter Elizabeth (Lisa) Burris and her husband James. She also leaves her sisters Darel Baniukiewicz and her husband, Charles Baniukiewicz of Harwich MA and Jo Ann Jerome, husband Thomas Jerome (deceased) of Dunedin Florida. Her grandchildren knew her as Glamma Gramma. They include Stephen Burris, Sarah Whittier, Robert Burris, Tayler Burris, Damion Burris, Andrew Kelley, Jillian Kelley Landers, Erik Aho, Amanda Meadows and Serenity Jackson. Her great grandchildren Addilyn Meadows, Austin Meadows, Roman Landers, Haley Burris, Izabella Burris, Calvin Whittier, Dorothy Whittier, Zakkai Whittier and Everleigh Burris. She also had many nieces and nephews, who knew her as Auntie Grossie.
She was predeceased by her mother Frances (Allen) Turner and father Charles Turner and her sister Laurie (Turner) Baniukiewicz.
We will celebrate the life of Jeri with a graveside service at the Worcester County Memorial Cemetery on Richards Avenue in Paxton MA at 11 AM on August 29th 2025. A lunch at a local restaurant will immediately follow. |
