Gladys “Ginger” F. (Belanger) Magee, 75, passed away peacefully on Friday July 12, 2024, at South Shore Hospital surrounded by her loving family after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Donald F. Magee, O.D. Ginger was born in Worcester, MA, she was the daughter of the late John G. and Gladys F. (Nutton) Belanger. She graduated from Burncoat Senior High School in Worcester and attended Assumption College in Worcester. Ginger was a homemaker and an office manager for her late husband Donald F. Magee Optometrist office located in East Milton, MA for many years before retiring. Ginger was the best mother ever! She was a remarkable individual, never forgetting a person and fully invested in those she engaged with. She loved her family and friends and there was always a seat at the table for anyone to enjoy a coffee, a meal or during the holidays. She loved traveling with her best friend and partner in crime Eileen Burtt to Florida, in the end, their adventures were some of her most cherished memories. She was the loving mother of Pamela Velmere of Portland, OR, Sharon (Burtt) Dicey and her late husband Joseph of Johnston, RI, Joan Magee-Martinez and her husband Mike of Beacon, NY, Frank Magee of Leicester, MA and Shane Magee of Johnston, RI. She was the grandmother of Keith Velmere, Dylan Velmere, Anna Martinez, and Arabella Magee-Martinez; great-grandmother of Winter, Giovanni and Tyberius. She also leaves many nieces and nephews. Ginger was the sister of John Belanger and his wife Jeannette Halaska of Edgewater, FL, Daniel Belanger and his wife Deborah of Shrewsbury, MA and sister in-law of William Menanson husband of her late sister Cheryl Menanson. She was also pre-deceased by her siblings and spouses Coleen Brewster and her husband Henry “Red”, Denise McShane and her husband Kirk and Joel Belanger. Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, July 27, 2024 at 10am in St. Joseph Church, 10H Putnam Road Extension, Charlton, MA. Visitation will be held in the church prior to Mass, from 9-10am. Inurnment will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park Cemetery, Paxton, MA. |
