Linda M. Dube, 76, of Selbyville, DE, passed away at Delaware Hospice Center on July 15 surrounded by her loving family after a brief illness. Linda was a beloved mother and is survived by her 3 children: David Dube of Selbyville, DE, Dennis Dube of Augusta, GA, and Tina Gland and husband Mark of Frankford, DE. She also leaves behind her life partner, Roland Dube of Selbyville, DE; her siblings Theresa Fatemi and husband Mehdi and Wendell G. Mattress. Linda cherished her numerous nieces and nephews, whom she doted on with great affection. She is predeceased by her parents R. Walter and Alice (Miller) Mattress; her brother, Gary Mattress; and many aunts and uncles whom she shared many precious moments. Linda was born in Worcester, MA and attended schools there. She was a dedicated mother and homemaker, creating a warm and welcoming home where she loved hosting family cookouts and holiday gatherings. Her love of gardening was a joyful activity she shared with family, cultivating not only plants but also beautiful memories. Linda’s passion for Elvis Presley was legendary. She had the thrill of seeing him in person, visiting Graceland and enjoying Elvis impersonator festivals whenever she could. She enthusiastically hunted for trinkets and treasures that family humorously called her “Chachki’s.” She never missed a chance for late-night family trips to Foxwoods Casino in CT. In her younger years, she even drove stock cars. While her children grew up, Linda worked in various part-time food service roles. Later, she pursued her passion for animals, training as a dog groomer/kennel manager in Oxford, MA. She found immense joy in caring for all of her own pets as well as her grand dogs and cats. She volunteered at various church fairs, for the Boy Scouts and at the Christian Store House in Delaware. Linda’s radiant smile, sense of humor and compassion touched many lives. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Rest in peace, Linda. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Linda’s family between 4 – 7 PM on Thursday, July 25, 2024 at the BRITTON-WALLACE FUNERAL HOME, 91 Central St., Auburn, MA. A prayer service will be held at 11 AM on Friday July 26th in the funeral home, and committal prayers will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. |
