     Kwasi Konadu “KK” Osei-Boateng, 43 of Worcester, passed away at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston due to complications from interstitial lung disease (ILD).KK was born in London, England. He attended Achimota primary school at Achimota, Ghana, the Presbyterian Boys Secondary School, (PRESEC) in Legon, Ghana, where he earned his O-level diploma, before coming to America in 1994. He graduated from Doherty High School in Worcester. In 1999, he earned a BSc, majoring in Chemistry with a minor in Mathematics from Worcester State College. In 2007, he earned a graduate level certification from Boston University in Bio-Medical Imaging. KK worked as a scientist in the Pharmaceutical and Biotech industry including AstraZeneca, Genzyme, and Amgen.  The last position he held was the manager for the QC Lab at AbbVie Pharmaceutical Inc.

KK loved sports especially football and watching movies. He was a selfless human being, and positively impacted everyone he crossed paths with.

KK is survived by his three children, Brandon, William and Katelynn Boateng, all of Shrewsbury, MA; his parents, Maj. Gen (RTD) Kwasi Osei-Boateng of Ghana and Elizabeth Osei-Boateng of Worcester, MA; his two brothers, Kwame Osei-Boateng of Shrewsbury, MA., Kwasi Osei-Boateng, Jr. and his wife Jayne of Toledo, OH., his sister, Lynda Osei-Boateng of Germantown, MD; and nephews, Cameron Boateng, Caleb Boateng, Christian Boateng, Thabo Boateng, Thulani Boateng and Kipkirui Chepkwony, and his life partner, Rita Nartey, of Worcester, MA.

Services for KK will be held on Friday, July 10, 2020 from 5-7 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester. Burial will be on Saturday, July 11th at 9:30 am in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton.
