     Jeanne E. (Amlaw) Drake, 79, of Auburn, a gifted singer and strong dedicated woman of faith, died Monday January 20, 2014 at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Worcester, after an illness. Her husband Alton W. Drake died in 1998. She leaves behind her 2 sons David D. and Daniel N. Drake both of Auburn; one sister Betty Franceus of Pennsylvania; and one grandchild David Lucas Esteves Drake of Brazil.

     She was born in Worcester, daughter of Edward and Anita B. (Miller) Amlaw. She was a nurse by profession in the hospital, the United States Air Force and a nursing home. After beginning motherhood she became a housewife and devotedly cared for her home and family. Later on in life she completed the Church of God Ministerial Internship Program and gave the non-denominational service every Sunday for 7 years at the Life Care nursing home in Auburn. She taught her children to trust in God and keep their eyes on Jesus; great shall be the peace of her children. Her descendants will be known among the nations and their offspring among the peoples. All who see them will acknowledge that they are a people the Lord has blessed.

     Relatives and friends may visit on Saturday February 8, at 9:00AM followed by a service from 9:30–10:30 AM in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St. Auburn. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. A funeral celebration (dress code: black and white) will be held on Saturday Feb. 8 at 617 Lincoln St. Worcester from 9:00PM-12:30AM There will be a memorial church service on Sunday Feb. 9 at The Church of Pentecost International Worship Center 5 Blackstone River Rd, Worcester. Flowers may be sent to the funeral home.
