Roger A. Trudeau, Sr., 83, passed away in a local nursing home on Tuesday, November 5th. A long time Spencer resident, he was born in PQ, Canada on December 15, 1929, a son of the late Jean and Jeanne (Menard) Trudeau and attended schools there. He was the husband of the late Gloria M. (Boisjolie) Trudeau, who passed away on December 26, 2002.
Roger served during the Korean War in the U S Army from 1952 – 1954 and was the recipient of the National Defense Service Medal. Roger loved anything mechanical and could never leave well enough alone, it was said he talked aloud in his sleep about whatever he was working on at the time. He was a lumberjack at heart and spent countless hours building machines to cut lumber, often getting his sons involved making parts, and his wife Gloria calling all over the country locating parts he couldn’t do without. He was a quiet man and never was one to go out and meet new people, he figured family and a few friends was all anybody needed.
He is survived by four sons, Roger L. and James E. of New Orleans, Louisiana, Denis J. and his wife Nancy and Keneith J., both of Springfield. He also leaves three brothers, Bernard, Claude, and Jojo, all of Canada.
Friends and relatives are invited to gather at Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Ave., Paxton, for a 10am graveside service for both Roger and Gloria on Friday, November 15.
