JOHN R. DELANEY

     John R. “Jack” Delaney, 76, of Worcester died Monday, January 7, 2013 in St. Vincent Hospital. He is survived by his wife of forty-three years, Patricia (Brockley) Delaney and a son, Sean R. Delaney of Florence, KY and nieces and nephews. He was born in Worcester, a son of Francis and Aileen (Rayla) Delaney.
     John worked as a custodian for the City of Worcester for several years prior to retirement. He was an avid sports fan, especially football and baseball and a longtime collector of baseball cards.     
     He was a US Navy veteran.
     The funeral will be held on Monday, January 14, 2013 from DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton St., Worcester, MA, with a Mass at 11:00 AM in St. Stephen Church, 357 Grafton St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours in the funeral home will be Sunday, January 13, 2013 from 2:00PM to 3:00 PM.
