     Richard A. “Dick” Howard, 68, died Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at UMASS Memorial Hospital from Lung Cancer.
     He leaves his wife of 38 years, Carolyn D. (Corbett) Howard; a brother, Kenneth W. Howard of Milo, ME and several nephews and nieces. A brother, Bill Howard of Florida predeceased him. He was born in Worcester, the son of William A. and Eleanor (Petkus) Howard, graduated from Commerce High School and earned a B.S. in Engineering from Central New England College. Mr. Howard was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War.
     He worked at Concepts NREC in Woburn for 25 years retiring in 2009 and previously at Riley Stoker, Corp. for 10 years. He was once a member of Burncoat Baptist Church, and enjoyed sports and music, especially folk music.
     Mr. Howard’s family would like to thank the staff at UMASS Memorial Hospital for the wonderful care they provided.
     The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, June 2nd at 10:00 AM at CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle Street. A visiting hour will be held on Saturday from 9 until the time of the service. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
     In lieu of flowers, donations in Dick’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society , 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
