George Norman Bleau, 91, passed away Friday, February 3, 2012. His wife Lorraine E. (Allen) Bleau passed away in 2010. George leaves two sons, Thomas Bleau of Simi Valley, CA and Gerald Bleau of Port St. Lucie, FL; two daughters, Dorothy Leibman and Pamela Yarnell both of Port St. Lucie, FL; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by six siblings, Albina, Cora, Yvonne, Walter, Florida and Evelyn. George was born and raised in Worcester the son of George and Helen (Laplante) Bleau. After marriage he moved to Shrewsbury and moved to Spencer in 1986. He was a decorated WW II Marine Corp veteran and was awarded two purple hearts. George worked for 48 years at John J. Adams Co. in Worcester before retiring in 1986. He loved the outdoors especially fishing and gardening. A visiting hour will be held on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 from 8:30 to 9:30 AM at CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St., Worcester followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Anne’s Church, 130 Boston Turnpike, Shrewsbury. Burial with military honors will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Macular Degeneration Foundation, P.O. Box 515, Northampton, MA 01061-0515. |
