Kathlyn A. (Gundry) Metallic, 71, of Worcester, died Saturday, September 24, 2011 after a battle with cancer. She leaves four sons: Louis T. Metallic, Jr. and his fiancee Angela Zabawa of Holyoke, Paul Metallic, and Glenn Metallic and his wife Colleen, both of Worcester, and Edward Metallic and his girlfriend June Norton of Quebec; three daughters: Tina Fitzpatrick and her husband Kenneth of Charlton, and Ramona Metallic and Loretta Barriere of Worcester, whom both resided with Kathlyn; two brothers: Sherman Gundry and his wife Marion of Leicester, and Ray Gundry of Worcester, and one sister, Marlene Queally of Millbury; 16 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, and friends. She is predeceased by her parents, Adeline (Russell) Gundry, and Walter Gundry, Sr.; her husband, Louis T. Metallic, Sr.; two siblings: Walter Gundry, Jr., and Wanda Gordon. She was born in Barre, VT, before moving to Worcester as a teenager. Kathlyn made a big impact on all of the lives that she touched with her unconditional love and support that she gave to so many, with a kind word, a compassionate heart, and dedication to her family is what made her the wonderful mother, daughter, sister, and friend to all who knew her. Kathlyn worked at Talbot Trading Company, retiring in 2001. She enjoyed bingo and the company of her family. Calling hours are 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Graham Putanem & Mahoney Funeral Parlors, 838 Main St. Burial will follow on Thursday at 10 a.m at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. |
