Richard C. Pastor, 77, of Worcester, died Friday, March 11th, 2011 in the Rose Monahan Hospice Home. He leaves his wife of 54 years, Carolyn A. (Mazeika) Pastor; three sons, David R. Pastor of Ft. Lauderdale, Brian J. Pastor and his wife Judith of Rutland, Kenneth C. Pastor and his wife Christine of Douglas; two daughters, Patricia A. Voss of Ft. Lauderdale and Kathleen J. “Katie” Pastor of Worcester; a brother, Robert Pastor and his wife Rosemary of Worcester; eight grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. He was born in Worcester, the son of Charles E. and Florence A. (Giles) Pastor. He had worked for the City of Worcester Fire Department for 34 years, retiring as Captain in 1994. Richard also worked as an office clerk for the Worcester Telegram & Gazette and as a real estate broker. Prior to the fire department, he worked as an inspector for Wyman-Gordon Company in North Grafton. He was an Army veteran, serving during the Korean War. He was a member of the Worcester Retired Police and Fire Association, Worcester Fire Department Relief Association, Massachusetts State and County Municipal Employees Retirement Association, the Retired Men’s Club of Greendale, the Main South American Legion Post 341, a 4th Degree Member of the Pope John Council Knights of Columbus, and was a life member of the Chapter 4 Disabled Veterans, and a life member of the Worcester Fitness Club. The family extends their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Arthur Church, Dr. Robert Bessette, Nurse Michelle Lieddle and all the medical staff for the care that they provided. The family also wishes to thank all of Dick’s friends at the Donut Express for their friendship and support during this most difficult time. The funeral is Tuesday, March 15th with a service at 11:30 A.M. in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue. A private burial will follow. Calling hours are Monday, March 14th from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. in the funeral home.
