Carl Gunnard, 75, died Wednesday, May 5, 2010 in the Webster Manor Nursing Home, surrounded by his family. He leaves his wife of 51 years, Pauline G. (Allen) Gunnard; two sons: Paul D. Gunnard and his wife, Debra, of Spencer and Steven C. Gunnard and his wife, Rhonda, of Millbury; six grandchildren: Kristy, Katie, Sarah, Amanda, Morgan and Jaqui; four great-grandchildren: Tyler, Cameron, Julianna and Bryant; two sisters: Marilyn Bancroft and her husband, Ray, of West Boylston and Barbara Cutroni and her husband, James, of Holden; nephews and nieces. He was born in Worcester, son of Carl and Dorothy (Parker) Gunnard and had lived in Naples Florida for 15 years, before returning to the area. Carl was a power dispatcher for the former New England Power Service where he worked for over 30 years, retiring in 1993. He was an Air Force veteran during the Korean War and was a member of the Pioneer Masonic Lodge in Swansea. A private graveside service will be held in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association , Mass. Chapter 311 Arsenal Street, Watertown, MA 02472. Mulhane Home for Funerals, Millbury is assisting the family with arrangements. |
