Ernest E. Pelletier, 85, of Worcester died on Monday August 24th after an illness. Mr. Pelletier is survived by his loving wife Eileen P. (Walsh) Pelletier; two sons Michael R. Pelletier and his wife Deborah of Worcester and Scott J. Pelletier and his wife Therese of Sutton; three step-children Mary Shea of Chicopee and Thomas Shea and his wife Bridget of Chicopee and Neil Shea and his wife Deidre of Shrewsbury; nine grandchildren Adam, Nicholas, Daniel, MaryClaire, Tara, Thomas, Conor, Eileen and Anthony and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his loving first wife of 24 years Claire T. (Lamby) Pelletier; two sisters Loretta Williams and Rita Ryan and a brother Henry Pelletier. Ernest was born on August 3, 1924 in Worcester, son of the late Joseph and Stella (Grenier) Pelletier. He graduated from South High School and was a veteran of the United States Army serving during WWII in the European Theater.Mr. Pelletier was a longtime parishioner of the former Holy Name of Jesus Church and was currently a member of Saint Stephen's Church. He worked as a special equipment operator for the City of Worcester Street Department for 38 years and was the vice president of the City Service Employees Union Local 200. Ernest was also a member of the Main South American Legion Post #341.He enjoyed attending his grandchildren's sporting events and was a fan of the New York Yankee's and Holy Cross athletic teams. The funeral will be held on Thursday August 27th from the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond Street Worcester with a Mass at 10:30 AM in St. Stephen's Church 357 Grafton Street Worcester. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are on Wednesday, August 26th from 5 to 8 PM in the funeral home.
