    Shirley Mae (Parks) Richards, 76 of Arlington St., died Sunday in Knollwood Nursing Center, after an illness.

    She is survived by her husband, Robert Richards, and her sons; Wayne Richards and his wife Diane of Holden, Keith Richards and his wife Cheryl of Charlton; a daughter, Sharon Roberts of Center Conway, NH; two sisters, Estelle St. Amand of Franklin, and Linda Easterling, of Northborough; a brother, Dwight Parks and his wife Donna, seven grandchildren and one great granddaughter. She is preceded in death by her sister, Marilyn Gray.

    Shirley was born in Sutton, the daughter of the late Dwight and Winifred (Warfield) Parks. She was a graduate of Classical High School in Worcester.

    Mrs. Richards worked as a librarian's aide for the Auburn School system for many years; she also worked as a claims representative for the former State Mutual Insurance Co.

    Shirley looked forward to camping each summer with her family on Ossipee Lake in NH. She also traveled extensively with her husband. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchild. Shirley was a member of the Hadwen Park Congregational Church bible study group. Other hobbies that Shirley enjoyed were ceramics, knitting, piano playing, and square dancing.

    Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours from 4-7 PM Tuesday, at the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St., Auburn. Her funeral will be held Wednesday at 11:00 AM at the Hadwen Park Congregational Church, 6 Clover Street, Worcester. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hadwen Park Church Building Fund, 6 Clover Street, Worcester, MA 01602.
