RITA I. LUSSIER (GIROUARD)

    Rita I (Girouard) Lussier, 101, of 59 Temple St., died Sunday, July 5 at her home.

    She was the wife of Doris C. Lussier who died in 1987. She leaves two sons; Normand N. Lussier and his wife Jean of Spencer, George A. Lussier and his wife Marilyn of Rutland, five daughters; Alice L. Vandale and her husband Normand C. of Point St. Lucie, FLA., Aline L. Bourgeois of Margate, FLA., Annette L. Maio and her husband James, Jr. of Bergenfield, N.J., Anita Flay of Marlborough, CT., Bernadette Y. Mitchell and her husband John T. of Spencer, three sisters; Oda Fortin of Spencer, Rose Desmarais and her husband Rio of Orleans, VT., Anita Guillette of Derby, VT., 26 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

    She was pre-deceased by two sons; Arthur N. Lussier in 1993, Conrad “Joe” Lussier in 1996, 7 brothers and 1 sister.

    She was born in St. Helene, Canada the daughter of Ulderic & Dorilla (Hebert) Girouard.

    She was a member of St. Mary’s Parish in Spencer. As a devoted catholic she spent her life caring for her husband of 52 years and her children. She enjoyed gardening and visiting with family and friends. She was a strong believer in the Ideology of the Republican Party and loved political debates with friends and family.

    The funeral will be held Tuesday, July 7 from the J. HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., with a Mass at 10 A.M. in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 7 Church St., Spencer. Calling hours will precede the Mass from 8:00-9:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Mary, Queen on the Rosary Parish, 60 Maple St., Spencer, MA. 01562.
