Gilbert Gagne, 79, of Worcester, died Monday, January 5th in his home. He leaves his loving wife of 53 years, Armande V. (Trachy) Gagne; two sons: Richard E. Gagne of Worcester and Paul P. Gagne of Holden; two daughters: Linda M. Stattel of Lusby, MD and Diane G. Southard of Dudley; a sister, Jeannette Gagne of Drummondville, Quebec; seven grandchildren: Gisele, Stephanie, Gerald, Caitlin, Sarah, Thomas and Emily; several nephews and nieces. Three brothers: Emile, Louis and Ronald Gagne and a sister, Theresa Desautel predeceased him. He was born in Scotstown, Quebec, Canada, the son of Emile and Albina (Morin) Gagne. Mr. Gagne was employed by Heald Machine and Cincinnati Milacron as a machinist for 33 years. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving in Germany for eighteen months during the Korean War era. Mr. Gagne was a member of Notre Dame des Canadiens Church. He enjoyed helping family and friends with car and home repairs, travelling, going to the beach and woodworking. The funeral is Friday, January 9th from O'CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Charles Borromeo Church, 341 June Street. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Thursday, January 8th from 6:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
