ARTHUR R. COLLINS

   Arthur R. Collins, 86, of Worcester, died Monday, August 25 in UMASS Memorial Medical Center, 119 Belmont St. His wife, Nellie E. (Baronas) Collins, died in 1991.

   He leaves a granddaughter, Crystal Collins and a daughter-in-law, Jean Collins, both of Worcester. He was predeceased by his son, Arthur P. Collins. He was born in Worcester and was a lifelong city resident, he was the son of Joseph and Angel M. (Kraft) Collins.

   Mr. Collins was a foreman at Norton Co., for 23 years, before retiring in 1984. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II serving as a motor machinist in the North Atlantic. He graduated from St. John’s High School in Worcester. He was a member of St. Christopher Church. Arthur was a longtime member of the Frohsinn Club where he enjoyed dancing.

   The funeral will be held on Saturday, August 30, from DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton St., with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. Christopher Church, 950 West Boylston St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours in the funeral home are Friday, August 29 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
