Hedwig T. “Hattie” (Jesczerzewski) Pigoga, 89, of Worcester died Thursday April 24 in UMass Memorial Medical Center, 119 Belmont St. She leaves her husband of fifty six years, Victor Pigoga, a daughter, Carol Elliot and her husband Scott of New Hope, PA., a son, Victor J. Pigoga and his wife Kim of Exeter, RI., five grandchildren, Brian and Devon Elliot of New Hope; Allison, Jennifer and Benjamin of Exeter; and nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by four brothers, Bronislaw, Andrew, Steven and Joseph Jesczerzewski and two sisters, Sophie Jesczerzewski and Nellie Gulbicki. She was born in Worcester, a daughter of Andrej and Teofila T. (Aleksandrowicz) Jesczerzewski. As a wife, mother and grandmother, her life was devoted to her family, as well as, selflessly giving to others. She graduated from St. Mary’s High School. She was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church. Hattie was a member of the VFW West Boylston Auxiliary, the DAV, Chapter 4, Auxiliary and the 5th Infantry Division Association. She enjoyed traveling with her family, crafting, cooking and attending army re-unions. The funeral will be held Monday, April 28, from HENRY – DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., with a Mass at 10:30 am in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
