MARY H GUNSTEAD (DEIGNAN)

   Mary H. (Deignan) Gunstead, 81, of Worcester, died Wednesday, April 16, at Knollwood Nursing Home.

   Her husband, Warren W. Gunstead, died in 1998. She leaves two sons: Neil Gunstead of Shrewsbury and David Gunstead of Auburn; a brother, Richard C. Deignan of Worcester; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Sullivan of Florida; several nephews and nieces; and many close friends. She was predeceased in 1979 by a son, Daniel. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Charles and Hannah (McGrail) Deignan, and lived in Worcester all her life. She attended the former Sacred Heart Academy.

   Mary was a cashier at Stop & Shop for many years. She was a member of St. Peter’s Church, and was an avid Red Sox fan.

   The funeral will be Monday, April 21 from RICE FUNERAL HOME, 300 Park Ave., with a Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Peter’s Church, 929 Main St. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours will be held from 5 to 8 pm on Sunday, April 20 at the funeral home.
