MARTIN L FERNSTEN

   Martin is survived by his devoted wife and partner of 63 years, Mary A. (D'Ambra) Fernsten; two beloved sons, Martin R. Fernsten and his wife Lynda of Auburn, Jeffrey A. Fernsten and his wife Linda of Amherst; A cherished daughter, Pamela A. Lefferts and her husband William of Wookstock CT; a sister, June C. Rice of Worcester; 12 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. A brother Carl Fernsten pre deceased him. Martin was born in Koping, Sweden, a son of Martin T. and Anna K. (Broman) Fernsten.

   He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, earned his Bachelors degree in Economics from Boston University in 1950 and lived many years in West Boylston before moving to Worcester.

   Martin worked as an electrical Engineer more than 45 years. The majority of his years were for Norton Company before retiring in 1987. The remainder with Raytheon Corporation.
He was a member of the Greendale Retired men's Club, and the Boston Post 462, American Legion. He was an enthusiastic Golfer and was once a member of the Bay Path Gold League. Martin loved to Travel and spent 18 winters in Florida. He was a very much a family man who loved the times spent with his wife, children, grandchildren, sister and friends.
