Leon J. Langlois, 87, of Worcester, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away Monday, Jan. 7, 2008 at St. Vincent Hospital. His wife, Margaretta (Monahan) Langlois, died in 1996, and his son, John J. Langlois, died in July 2007. He leaves two daughters: Sharon M. Langlois of Worcester and Donna M. Veilleux and her husband Michael of Chocorua, NH; two sisters: Anita Millette of Leicester and Lorraine Millette of Webster; six grandchildren: Robert "Skippy" Prentiss, Christine Erkoc-Mahassel, Michael Marnalse, Garrett and Derek Langlois, and Nicole Veilleux; three great-grandchildren: Alicia, Ashley, and Blake. He was born in Gardner, son of Joseph D. and Albertine (Benoit) Langlois. Leon graduated from Worcester Boys' Trade in 1941, and soon after served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II, and was also a U.S. Marine. He was an electrician at Granger Construction and was also self-employed. Leon was the youngest of 18 children. He enjoyed the outdoors, was an avid fisherman and hunter, and a Red Sox and Patriots fan. He enjoyed playing bingo and loved his dog and companion, Tinker. He was a loving man and will be greatly missed by many. The funeral will be held Friday, January 11, at 11:00 am at RICE FUNERAL HOME, 300 Park Ave., Worcester. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Friday, Jan. 11 from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
