Joseph Paika, 86, of Port St. Lucie, died Thursday Sept. 6, 2007 at Hospices of the Treasure Coast, Fort Pierce. He was born in Worcester, MA, and has lived in Port St. Lucie for the past 2 years.
He was a past Post Commander at the American Legion Post 234 in Northboro, MA, and was a member of American Legion Post 318, Port St. Lucie. He was predeceased by his longtime companion, Sybil Chiapulis.
Joseph leaves his daughter, Barbara, wife of Robert Assad, a daughter-in-law, Bu Tuan, widow of Ronald Chiapulis, 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will assemble at 10:00 am on Saturday, Sept. 15th in DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton St., Worcester and proceed to Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton for a graveside service at 11:00 am. Memorial calling hours will be held on Friday, Sept. 14th from 7:00 to 9:00 pm in the funeral home.
