     Carolyn E. (Rutherford) Foster, born on August 18, 1943, in Worcester, Massachusetts, passed away, Tuesday, August 14, 2007, after a long illness.
    
Carolyn was a glamorous woman who loved the sparkle of diamonds and big city lights, the shimmer of satin and gold, and the vibe of jazz, rhythm and blues. Carolyn turned 18 years old in Atlantic City and lived in New York and Boston, before returning to her hometown to raise her daughter.
    
Carolyn leaves her only child, Stacey Luster and her grandchildren: Lee DeBoise Jr., Lance DeBoise and Sylvia Luster, all of Worcester. Carolyn is also survived by her mother, Virginia Rutherford of Worcester; four brothers: Robert Rutherford, David Rutherford, Edgar Harris, all of Worcester and Donald Rutherford of Punta Gorda, Florida; three sisters: Linda Rutherford, Bonnie Rutherford and Lillian Bonsra, all of Worcester. Carolyn also leaves her second husband and dear friend, Romeo Foster of Oxford and many, many friends and relatives. She is predeceased by her father, Loman “Jake” Rutherford; her brother, Loman Rutherford and her sisters: Shirley Bluncson & Effie Jackson. She is also predeceased by her first husband & life long friend, James Loper Howell.
    
The funeral for Carolyn will be held Saturday, August 18th at 9:00 a.m. in the First Assembly of God, 30 Tyler–Prentice Road, Worcester. Please go directly to the church. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours will be at the funeral home, Friday, August 17th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester is assisting the family with arrangements.
