PHYLLIS E. WAHLSTROM (MODIG)

Phyllis E. (Modig) Wahlstrom, 88, passed away peacefully February 20, 2007. Her husband of 63 years, Carl Roy Wahlstrom passed in 2001. She is survived by her 2 daughters, Carol P. Aro of Eastham with whom she has lived with since 2003 and Janet A. Whittier and her husband Bill of Sutton. One brother, Raymond Modig, one sister, Bertha Larson both of Shrewsbury, 4 grandaughters, Karen of Newburyport, Christine of Ossipee NH, Patricia and Betsy both of Eastham. Two great grandchildren, Ryann and Max, several nieces and nephews and her longtime friends and neighbors Jean and Warren Senecal. She was predeceased by two brothers, Herbert and William Modig.
    Phyllis was born November 20, 1918 in Millbury the daughter of Carl and Tekla (Lindgren) Modig and lived there most of her life. Mrs. Wahlstrom was a sales associate at the former MacInnis Department Store in Worcester for many years. She was a member of The Raymond Memorial Congregational Church in East Millbury, The Eastern Star affiliated with Olive Branch Lodge in Millbury and several local camping associations. She and her husband Roy enjoyed traveling in their Avion camper many years wintering in Zephyrhills FL and summering in Great East Lake NH. They also enjoyed bingo and cards with many friends at The Grafton Senior Center. Private graveside services will be held in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton where she will be laid to rest with her husband. There are no calling hours.
