Henry L. Foote, 74, of Worcester, died Sunday, February 4, 2007 at St. Vincent Hospital after being stricken ill at home. He leaves his wife of 40 years, Margaret R. (Stearns) Foote; a son, Kevin F. and his wife Mary B. Foote of Shrewsbury; two daughters, Deborah and her husband James Chamness of Las Vegas and Cheryl Bodie of Grand Junction, Colo.; four grandchildren, Yolana and Vanessa Bodie of Grand Junction, and Erin and Kasey Foote of Shrewsbury. He also leaves a sister, Rita and her husband David Gentile; a niece, Ann Marie and her husband James Smith; a nephew, David Gentile, all of Port Charlotte, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Mary and her husband Martin Lobo of North Grafton and their two sons, Matthew Lobo of Westfield and Michael Lobo of San Diego. Henry was born in Worcester, son of Henry and Anna (Hamilton) Foote and attended Commerce High School. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and completed a tour of duty in Korea. After active duty, he served more than three years in the Army Reserve and then six years in the Air Force Reserve. He worked for the City of Worcester Parks & Recreation Dept. for 44 years, retiring January 19, 2007. He was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Parish and the Grafton Hill American Legion Post. He coached in the Worcester Youth Football League for 10 years and coached baseball for eight years in the Ted Williams Little League and West Side Babe Ruth League. He was a devoted fan of the New England Patriots. Calling hours at the Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester, are Wednesday, February 7 from 5 to 8 p.m. The funeral will be Thursday, February 8, from the funeral home with a Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Charles Borromeo Church, 341 June St., Worcester. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. |
