Henry L. Croteau, 79, of 2 Westport Circle, a World War II veteran, died in UMass Memorial Medical Center — University Campus after an illness. He left his wife of 58 years, Dorothy M. (Grabowski) Croteau; a son, Leonard H. Croteau of Wellfleet; a daughter, Patricia M. Buyniski of Worcester; three brothers, Edmund Croteau of Worcester, Oscar Croteau of Ocala, Fla., and Arthur Croteau of Grafton; two sisters, Germaine Lambert and Rita O’Donnell, both of Worcester; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nephews and nieces. A sister, Estelle O’Brien, predeceased him. He was born in Worcester, son of Joseph and Laura (Lagorce) Croteau. He graduated from Commerce High School and the former Worcester Boys Trade School, now Worcester Vocational High School. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Mr. Croteau was a code inspector for the City of Worcester for 25 years. He previously worked for Reed Rolled Thread Die Co. in Holden. After retiring, he worked part-time for St. Peter Marian High School. He was a member of Christ the King Church, the Worcester County Electric League and the Froshin Club. He was a Red Sox fan. Funeral was held Thursday, May 15, from Fay Brothers Funeral Home, 1 West Boylston St., West Boylston (www.faybrothers.com), with a Mass in Christ the King Church, 1052 Pleasant St. Burial was in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. |
