Ernest J. Berube Sr., 86, of 21 Ridge Road, died Monday, March 25, in UMass Memorial Medical Center — Memorial Campus, Worcester.
He leaves his wife of 62 years, Theresa L. (Paradis) Berube; two sons, Richard D. Berube of Grafton and Ernest J. Berube Jr. of Spencer; four daughters, Paulette D. Simonovitch of Spencer, Elaine J. Thornburg and Deborah J. Simmons, both of West Brookfield, and Janet C. Lizon of the Indian Orchard section of Springfield; a brother, Victor Berube of New Hampshire; three sisters, Sister Frances Berube of Canada, Theresa Comerford of Holden and Marie Merritt of New Jersey; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. He was born in Fitchburg, son of Luke T. and Diana (Dion) Berube. Mr. Berube worked 18 years for Reed Rolled Thread & Dye Co., Holden, retiring in 1980. He was a member of West Brookfield Senior Citizens and Sacred Heart Church. The funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 27, in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, West Main Street. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. A calling hour is 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 27, in Pillsbury Funeral Home, Old West Brookfield Road, Brookfield.
