Lawrence P. Bissonnette, 75, of 8 Knowlton Ave., a Navy Veteran of World War II, died Sunday, June 17, at home after an illness.
He leaves his wife, Mabel (Gillespie) Bissonnette of Worcester; a son, Lawrence B. Bissonnette of Worcester; a daughter, Darlene Bissonnette of Worcester; and a brother, Philip Bissonnette of France. He was born in Lancaster, son of Emile and Aura (LaConte) Bissonnette. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
Mr. Bissonnette was a machinist many years for the former Wright Machine Co., retiring in 1984.
He was a member of St. Peter’s Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars Gallant Post, and was the District 8 Past Commander for the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was also a member of the Tatnuck Post American Legion in Worcester.
The funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 20, in St. Peter’s Church, 931 Main St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Shelter for Homeless Veterans, Grove Street, Worcester, MA 01605. Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home, 12 Hammond St., is directing arrangements.
