   Florence E. (Piette) St. Martin, 98, a Gold Star mother, died Monday in St. Vincent Hospital after a short illness. Her husband, Arthur St. Martin, a retired City firefighter, died in 1973. She leaves a daughter, Jeannine Bouffard of Worcester; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. A son, Ronald St. Martin, was killed in action in the Asiatic-Pacific theater in March 1945.
   She was born in Grafton, daughter of Joseph and Sophia (LaBare) Piette, and lived many years in New Haven, Conn. before moving here in 1920. Mrs. St. Martin was a clerk for 10 years at Lobel's Children's Store in Worcester, retiring in 1960. During World War I, she was an assembler at the Winchester Rifle Co. in New Haven. She was a member of St. Margaret Mary Church and its Women's Guild; the Gold Star Mothers; and the Greendale Retired Men's Club Women's Bowling League.
   The funeral will be held tomorrow from Mercadante Funeral Home, 370 Plantation St., with Mass at 9:30 a.m. in the St. Margaret Mary church, 75 Alvarado Ave. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours will be held from 7 to 9 tonight in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Building Fund of St. Margaret Mary Church, 75 Alvarado Ave., Worcester 01604.
