Subscription Update Obituary

   Robert J. Morgan, 84, of Worcester, died Sunday, June 8, 2008 in the Odd Fellows Nursing Home.

   His wife of 58 years, Rita F. (McDermott) Morgan, died in 2005. He leaves a son, Michael D. and his wife Eileen Morgan of Holden, and three grandchildren, Haley, Jack and Rylie Morgan all of Holden; a sister-in-law, Doris Morgan of Worcester and nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by three brothers, George Morgan, John Morgan and his twin Paul Morgan.

   Mr. Morgan was born in Worcester, son of John and Josephine (Pickett) Morgan. He left South High School during his senior year to enter the U.S. Marine Corps. He served in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater during World War II including the Battle at Guadalcanal.

   He was an equipment installer and repairman at the New England Telephone Co., where he worked for 28 years before retiring.

   He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and was a devoted Boston Red Sox fan.

   Mr. Morgan's family wishes to thank Notre Dame du Lac, the Jewish Healthcare Center and especially the Odd Fellows Home for the professional and compassionate care they provided him in recent years.

   The graveside service will be held Wednesday, June 11 at 9 am. in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. There are no calling hours.

   In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Good Fight for Brendan White Foundation, P.O. Box 2934, Worcester 01613-2934.

   The Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester, is directing arrangements.
