Lucy A. (Pasquale) Piccarelli, 87, of Shrewsbury, passed away Sunday, November 8, 2009 in Memorial Hospital. Her husband, Patsy H. Piccarelli, predeceased her in September 2002.

Lucy is survived by her children, Arlene M. Holiday and her husband Douglas of Worcester, and Robert A. Piccarelli and his wife, Maureen of Wareham; two brothers, Lorenzo DePasquale of Millbury and Vincent Pasquale of Shrewsbury; a sister, Mary Simone of Shrewsbury; five grandchildren, Tina Brady, Laura Malinosky, Kathleen Holiday, Danielle Tenczar, and Andrea Piccarelli-Alpert; six great grandchildren, Samantha, Seryna, Joshua, Michael, Robert and Benjamin; many nieces and nephews. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Antonio and Lena (Ciani) DePasquale, and attended Worcester Public Schools, and later moved to Shrewsbury in 1952.

She was a garment worker for several companies throughout Worcester. She was a member of Saint Anne's Church, it's senior club, and the Lady Garment Workers Union. She was a former member of the Frohsinn Club, enjoyed traveling, and "the wonder of it all". She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her family filled her heart with love and joy.

The funeral for Lucy will be held Thursday, November 12, from MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Saint Anne's Church, 120 Boston Turnpike Road (route 9), Shrewsbury. Interment will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, November 11, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the funeral home.

The family requests that rather than sending flowers, you honor her memory by making donations to The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Massachusetts/Rhode Island Chapter, 220 North Main Street, Suite 104, Natick, MA 01760 or to Susan G. Komen for the Cure , Attn: Donor Services PO Box 650309, Dallas, TX 75265-0309.
