Subscription Update Obituary

     Leo T. Leon, 89, of Leicester died on Wednesday, January 16th in Beaumont of Worcester surrounded by his family. His wife of 58 years, Gloria B. (Zetterman) Leon died in 2010. He leaves two daughters, Marcia L. and her husband, Matthew C. Blanchard, Sr. of Leicester; Sandra D. Leon of Worcester; a brother, John Lundin of Fort Myers, Florida; a sister, Beverly Bombard of Worcester; three grandchildren, Laura Blanchard, Matthew C. Blanchard, Jr. and Marc Blanchard; three great granddaughters, Fiona, Olivia and Ava and many nieces and nephews.

He was born in Tewksbury the son of Victoria (Kapulka) Lundin and was a veteran of the United States Army serving in Germany during the Korean War. Leo was a letter carrier with the United States Post Office. He was a member of the National Letter Carriers Association and a former member of St. John’s Episcopal Church. Leo enjoyed spending time in his garden and cooking. In his later years he enjoyed listening to music from Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra.

The family would like to thank the 3rd floor staff of Beaumont Rehabilitation and the Salmon VNA and Hospice for the amazing care they gave Leo.

His funeral is Thursday, January 24th with a service at 11:00 AM in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Wednesday, January 23rd from 4:00 until 7:00 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
