Doris P. (Nordstrom) Stafinski, 68, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on August 19 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Doris attended Shepard Gill School of Nursing in Boston and received a degree in nursing. For 40 years, she dedicated her life to caring for the elderly in long-term care facilities. She was much more than a nurse to the residents that she cared for she was considered a friend and extended family member. She enjoyed reading, painting, watching the Red Sox and most importantly spending time with her family.  She was loved and adored by her family and will be greatly missed.

The family would like to thank the entire staff at St. Vincent’s Hospital for the excellent care and tremendous compassion they provided to Doris, especially the chemotherapy and radiation departments. Their kindness, thoughtfulness and generosity were greatly appreciated and will never be forgotten.

The funeral will be held Saturday, Aug 22 at 10:00 AM in MORIN-MORRISON FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main Street, Leicester.
