Ann Marie (Frende) Violette, 77, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, June 20 at Saint Vincent Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Worcester, daughter of Martin A. and Laura M. (Huntoon) Frende and attended Commerce High School. Ann was an office clerk for the Worcester School system for 10 years and prior to that she worked at the Fair for over 25 years.

Ann was predeceased by her husband Clement J. Violette on April 24, 1996, a son, Edward J. Casey, Jr. and her sister, Joan T. Frende. She is survived by five children; Sandra McLean and her husband Dave of Northbridge, Cheryl White and her partner Thomas Tetrault of Worcester, Linda Katinas and her husband Paul of Worcester, Steven Casey and his fiancé Penny Hill of Millbury and Mark Violette and his partner Celeste Pardy of East Brookfield and a sister-in-law, Evette Violette. Ann was a loving and devoted Nana to 20 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. She also leaves several nephews and nieces.

Ann liked to keep herself busy and enjoyed going to the Worcester Senior Center, bowling and traveling. She loved to watch the Kentucky Derby on television and it was truly a dream come true when she had the opportunity to attend it last year. Spending time with her children and grandchildren is what Ann enjoyed most, they were her world. Her family will dearly miss the beautiful matriarch of their family. Ann’s family would like to thank the staff in the critical care unit at Saint Vincent Hospital for the wonderful care they provided.
