Subscription Update Obituary

     Rose M. (DiPilato) Doldo, 88, of Worcester, passed away on Friday, July 4, 2014, in Knollwood Nursing Center. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Anthony J. Doldo, on July 15, 1995.

Rose is survived by three sons, Anthony J. Doldo, Jr. and his wife Sayra Ivonne Doldo of Cameron, NC, Marco G. Doldo of Worcester and Michel S. Doldo and his wife Heather M. Walker of Worcester; four grandchildren, Andrea Doldo, Deana Doldo, Nathaniel Doldo and Juliana Doldo. She is also survived by her two brothers, John DiPilato of Barre and Joseph DiPilato, Jr. and his wife Carmella of West Boylston; two sisters, Marta Casillo and her husband Gene of Princeton and Diana Dattis and her husband Cosmo of Downington, PA; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother and his wife, Nicholas and Phyllis DiPilato and by a sister in law, Susan DiPilato.

Rose was born in Bronx, New York, daughter of the late, Joseph D. and Isabella (Garafoli) DiPilato. Her family moved to Worcester when she was only seven years old; she graduated from a Worcester High School, and has lived here all her life.

She retired from Caldor Corporation, where she was the Regional Customer Service Manager for many years. She had previously worked at R.H. White Department Store and had been an executive officer in her family construction company, J.D. Wilson Construction. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel-Saint Ann Church. She loved to talk to people and was quick to make friends. She especially enjoyed the times she spent with her family.

Calling hours for Rose will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 2014, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Her Funeral will be held on Wednesday, July 9, from the funeral home with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel-Saint Ann Church, 24 Mulberry Street, Worcester. Interment will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
