Subscription Update Obituary

     Robert J. “Flip” “Hoppy” Wilson, 79, of Auburn passed away Tuesday, April 7 in UMASS Medical Center.

He leaves his wife of nearly, 55 years, Barbara J. (Bock) Wilson; six children, Debbie A. Ludden of Auburn, Donna M. and her husband, Robert Hamilton of Wheelwright, Doreen L. Wilson of Auburn, Diane M. Nussey of Auburn, Denise M. and her husband, Stephen LaBaire of Leicester; and Robert J. and his wife, Jen Wilson of Charlton; fifteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was born in Worcester, son of Edwin L. and Gertrude A. (Reidy) Wilson and graduated from South High School. Flip was a US Navy Veteran of the Korean War.

Flip was an installer for AT&T, formerly New England Telephone Company, retiring several years ago. He was a member of Saint Joseph’s Church, the Knights of Columbus Alhambra Council#88, the Main South American Legion Post #341 and the Pioneers of America.

A Funeral will be held Saturday, April 11 from CALLAHAN~FAY~CASWELL Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle Street, Worcester with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Saint Joseph’s Church, 189 Oxford Street, Auburn. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Visiting Hours are Friday, April 10 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Scholarship Fund, c/o the Knights of Columbus, Alhambra Council #88, PO Box 20404, West side Station, Worcester, 01602.
