Subscription Update Obituary

     Robert F. Mathews, 85, of Leicester passed away Thursday, July 17 in St. Vincent Hospital. He leaves his wife of 32 years, Peggy (Query) Mathews; two daughters, Ann Corey and her husband, Frank of North Attleboro and Mary Perry and her partner, Paul Catino of Webster; a son, Donald Jubinville and his wife, Michelle of Leicester; three grandchildren, Samantha, Katie and Hunter; two great-grandchildren, Haley and Mason and nieces and nephews. A brother and a sister predeceased him. He was born in Worcester, son of Raymond and Laurencia (Synder) Mathews and graduated from Commerce High School and New England Junior College. He was a United States Marine Corp Veteran of the Korean War. Bob was the supervisor of maintenance for Catholic Charities for the last 30 years retiring due to illness, prior to that he was a service manager for CK Smith Company for 30 years. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Church. Bob’s family would like to extend a special thank you to Susan of the Auburn VNA who was like an angel to all of us. The Funeral will be held on Tuesday, July 22 from CALLAHAN FAY AND CASWELL Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St., Worcester with a Mass at 10:00AM in St. Joseph’s Church, 759 Main St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Visiting Hours are Monday, July 21 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Auburn VNA, 191 Pakachoag St., Auburn, 01501.
