Subscription Update Obituary

     Richard F. “Skip” Law, Sr., 77, of Millbury, formerly of Worcester, died Thursday, January 22, 2015 at home, surrounded by his loving family.

He leaves his wife of 12 years, Cheryl A. (Luce) Smith-Law; five children, Richard F. Law, Jr. and his wife Carol of Worcester, David J. Law and his wife Lisa of Charlton, Sabrina A. Yodice and her husband Richard of Paxton, Ellen M. Law of Worcester and Heidi A. McCarthy and her husband Scott of Worcester; 12 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He also leaves two step children, Katie Ann Kinnear of Hubbardston and Dean Clinton Smith of Haverhill; eight step grandchildren; a brother, George “Joe” Law of CT; two sisters, Georgia Curtis of TN and Cindy Ricard of Charlton; and many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his first wife of 44 years, Mary M. (Cooper) Law on January 1, 2001, and his brothers, Raymond and Eddie Law.

Skip was born in Worcester, son of George J. and Ione T. (Hinds) Law. He was a truck driver for Consolidated Freight for many years retiring in 2000, and prior to that, he drove for Branch Motor Express for 27 years. Since his retirement from Consolidated, Skip has worked for Knights Limousine. He was a longtime member of Christ the King Church and was a Third Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council #12669. He also belonged to the Worcester Lodge of Elks #243 and Teamsters Union Local 170. Skip and Cheryl loved to travel with their RV. They also loved their trips to Orlando and spending time at Lake Winnipesaukee, where they enjoyed all outdoor water sports with their boat and snowmobiling.

A funeral will be held on Monday, January 26 from CALLAHAN~FAY & CASWELL FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle Street, Worcester, with a Mass at 10:00 AM at Christ the King Church, 1052 Pleasant Street. Burial will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Visiting hours will be on Sunday, January 25 from 2-5 pm in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Vincent Hospital Wellness Center, ATTN: Janet Smith, 1 Eaton Place, Worcester, MA 01608. Checks should be made payable to Catholic Restoration Apostolate.
