Patricia A. “Pat” (Berryman) Owens, a resident of Sterling for 40 years, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, September 19, 2014, with her loving family at her bedside.

Pat was born and raised in Worcester, a daughter of the late Arthur S. and Allie E. (Nelson) Berryman. She graduated from the former Commerce High School. Pat worked as a buyer for the former Nortech Company, and later its successor, Quantum Corporation in Clinton before their closing. She was a voracious reader of any genre, and was constantly surrounded by books. Pat also enjoyed visiting the beach and spending time in the mountains. Being together with her family, and especially her grandchildren, brought the greatest of joys to Pat. For more than 42 years, Pat was the beloved wife of the late Donald F. Owens, who died in 2010. She was also predeceased by her sister, Linda Soucie, formerly of Newburyport.

She leaves her four children, Marydonna, wife of the late Stephen Lacilla of Holden, James S. Owens and his wife, Suyuri of Marlborough, Erin E. Owens of Fitchburg and Kerry L. Ball and her husband, Jamie of Glenallen, VA; her five grandchildren, Lisa and Michael Lacilla, Ryan and Tarina Owens and Patrick Ball; her brother, Arthur Berryman, Jr. and his wife, Lorraine of Worcester; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Pat’s family on Wednesday, September 24, from 4-7 p.m. at the Miles-Sterling Funeral Home and Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Road (Rte. 12), Sterling. A memorial service celebrating Pat’s life will be held on Thursday, September 25, at 11 a.m. at the First Congregational Church of Holden, 1180 Main Street, Holden. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Town of Sterling Fire Department “Ambulance Fund”, P.O. Box 515, Sterling, MA 01564.
