Subscription Update Obituary

     Mary T. (Moore) Ethier, 86, of Mt. Pleasant Ave. died Wednesday, June 24 in her home after an illness.

Her husband of 62 years, Raymond T. Ethier died in 2013. She leaves three daughters; Patricia Marino of Oxford, Rosemary Wolanski and her husband Richard with whom she lived and Margaret “Peg” Erickson and her husband Melvin of Spencer, 9 grandchildren; Regina, Kristina and Joseph Mandella, Stephanie Forrester, Richard Wolanski, Jr., KathleenSoden, Mathew, Nicholas and Daniel Tolman, 13 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by two daughters; Mary Ellen and Regina Ethier and a son-in-law Michael Marino.

She was born in Milton, daughter of John and Agnes (Sullivan) Delaney and was raised by her adoptive parents Patrick and Bridget (Drohan) Moore. She graduated from St. Peter’s High School. She was a telephone operator for several years at New England Telephone Co. She was a dedicated and active member of St. Joseph Parish where she was an Eucharistic minister and was a member of the Eccumenical Council. She was a CCD teacher for many years at both St Joseph’s Parish in Leicester and St Mary’s Parish in Brookfield. In her later years, she was a talented painter and a passionate gardener. Mary was a devoted and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and friend and will be missed dearly by her loving family.

The family would like to thank the staff at Summit ElderCare, the VNA CareNetwork, and the many home health aides who attended to her compassionately at home, especially Grace, Nancy, Cassandra, Sue, Kelly, and Kelli. A special thanks to her dear caregiver and friend, Betty, who showed incredible devotion and love to her for several years.

The funeral will be held Wednesday, July 1st from MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main Street, Leicester with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Pius X Church, 1153 Main Street, Leicester. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Tuesday, June 30 from 5:00-7:00 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to The Home for Little Wanderers, Development Department, 10 Guest Street, Boston, MA 02135 or to the Spastic Paraplegia Foundation, P.O. Box 1208, Fortson, GA 31808.
