Subscription Update Obituary

     Joan Rita (Morgan) McLaughlin, 82, passed away on Monday, July 21, 2014, with her family by her side at the Golden Living Center. She leaves her husband of 62 years, James T. McLaughlin; three sons, James McLaughlin and his wife Roseanne, William McLaughlin and his wife Sandra, and Thomas McLaughlin and his wife Dawn; one daughter, Joan Foley and Kevin Sweeney; nine grandchildren, James J. McLaughlin, Tiffany Cassie, Courtney McDaniel, Erin Wix, John-Mark McLaughlin, Kandace Doyle, Corey McLaughlin, Morgan Foley, and Gray Foley; a sister-in-law, Norma Kelly; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Francis and Joseph Lockwood.

Joan was born in Clinton, daughter of Mary E. (Reardon) and William Morgan. She was a graduate of Clinton High School. Joan worked as soda fountain manager at Liggett Rexal and as a waitress at the Webster House. She was a member of St. Joan of Arc church. She enjoyed bowling and was very involved in youth bowling leagues. She also enjoyed puzzles, yard sales, and trips to Foxwoods.

Funeral services will be held at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, Thursday, July 24. Calling hours will be held from 10am-12pm. The funeral service will follow at the funeral home at 12pm. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Asera Care Hospice, 27 Midstate Dr., Suite 104, Auburn MA 01501.
