     Jerry H. LaPlante, of Auburn, died March 20, 2015 after a long illness at the age of 68. He leaves his parents, Hector W. and Nathalie (Yurasha) LaPlante of Auburn; two sisters, Linda Senior and her husband John of Putnam, CT and AnnMarie Chuichiolo and her husband William "Billy" of Mendon; seven brothers, David and Paul LaPlante of Webster, Jeffrey LaPlante and his wife Donna of Auburn, Roger LaPlante and his wife Pearl of Hawaii, Michael LaPlante of N. Grafton and Steven and Arthur LaPlante of Auburn; his aunt, Theresa LaPlante of Charlton; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. His brother, Mark LaPlante predeceased him. Jerry graduated from Auburn High School, earned his pilot's license and bought a Cessna. He would take daytrip flights throughout the Northeast just to get coffee. For 15 years he owned and operated a lobster boat out of Marshfield called "Pirate" before going to work for the USPS until his retirement in 2006. Jerry was going to attend Bee Keeping School this spring which was going to be his new passion along with gardening. He was an active member of the Worcester County Bee Keepers Association and enjoyed his Ham Radio. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Jerry's family on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 from 5-8 PM in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St, Auburn. His funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at 10:00AM in Saint Joseph's Church, 189 Oxford Street North, Auburn. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, please plant flowers and reduce pesticide use for the life of the bees.
