Subscription Update Obituary

     Edith J. (Preston) Gustafson died Sunday, October 12, 2014, in Holden. Her beloved husband of 50 years, Herbert G. Gustafson, died in 1991. Edith leaves their three children, Janet L. and David B. Gustafson of West Boylston and Barbara J. Osborne and her husband, Andrew of Kingston.

Edith was born in Fitchburg, daughter of the late Frank H. and Edith M. (Waddell) Preston. She was predeceased by her brothers, Frank H. and Richard W. Preston. Edith graduated from Fitchburg Teachers College, taught elementary school in Fitchburg and Pepperell from 1940 to 1942 and came to live in West Boylston in 1955.

The family would like to thank the staff at Holden Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center for the compassionate care given to Edith.

There are no calling hours. A graveside service will be private. If desired, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to The First Congregational Church of West Boylston, 26 Central Street, West Boylston, MA 01583. Arrangements are under the care of the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden.
