Subscription Update Obituary

     Doris D. (Holman) Bucknam, 94, of Worcester died Thursday, June 25th at home surrounded by her loving family. She is predeceased by her first husband, Ralph Hamalainen in 1968 and her second husband, Glen Bucknam in 1978. She leaves two sons, Ralph T. Hamalainen and his wife, Mary of Hallandale, FL and Charles W. Hamalainen and his wife, Donna of Worcester; three grandchildren, Matthew Hamalainen, Dawn Angus and Sharon Guidaboni and her husband, Zach . She was predeceased by a sister, Mildred Herlihy.

She was born in Central Falls, Rhode Island the daughter of Charles and Lena (Pagueau) Holman. Doris worked for General Electric and Timex for over 40 years retiring in 1990 as an inspector. She enjoyed singing, social activities and helping out with functions at Green Hill Towers. Her family meant the world to her; her grandchildren were the light of her life.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff with Notre Dame Hospice for their compassion and care during Doris’s illness and her friend’s at Green Hill Towers for their friendship and love over the past 25 years.

Her funeral is Wednesday, July 1st at St. John’s Church, 40 Temple Street with a Mass at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Food for the Poor, 44 Temple Street, Worcester, MA 01604.
