Subscription Update Obituary

     Stephen J. Kaczynski, 92, of Worcester, died Friday, March 21, 2014 in UMass Memorial Medical Center, 55 Lake Ave. North. He is survived by his wife of forty two years, Gloria T. (Dumas) Kaczynski. He also leaves his daughter, Carolyn Lorusso and her husband Anthony and his granddaughter Brooklyn all of Worcester and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by brothers, Walter, Stanley and Thaddeus Kaczynski and a sister Cassie Urban. He was born in Worcester a son of Frank and Rose (Gwiazda) Kaczynski.

     Mr. Kaczynski was an civil engineer for the City of Worcester retiring in 1981. He was a member of the first graduating class of St. Mary’s High School. He was a US Navy Veteran of World War II and a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church. Steve also was a member of the Polish American Veterans of WWII. He enjoyed his many trips to the racetracks, the casinos and trips to Old Orchard Beach. He loved sports, especially college basketball and pro baseball. But most of all he enjoyed being with his family and cherished the times spent with his grand-daughter. He was a wonderful husband, father and grand father who will be be dearly missed.

     The funeral will be held on Tuesday March 25, 2014 from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., Worcester with a Mass at 10:30 A.M. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St., Worcester. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours will be held in the funeral home on Monday March 24, 2014 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. The Polish American Veterans will gather at 6:30P.M. to perform their ritual.
