Subscription Update Obituary

     Ruth C. (Ham) Wilmot, 94, passed away July 27, 2013, at the Knollwood Nursing Center. Her husband of more than 53 years, Merton C. Wilmot, died in 1994. She leaves two sons and three daughters, Jean A. Lunt of Charlton, Marilyn C. Elie of Fall River, James C. Wilmot (Marie) of Paxton, Richard L. Wilmot (Patricia) of Rutland, and Dianne E. Trippi (William) of Worcester; a brother, J. Philip Ham of Holden; 14 grandchildren, John, Donna, Karen, Seth, David, Allison, Lauren, Jesse, Sarah, Hannah, Hailey, Elizabeth, William, and Michael; and 16 great-grandchildren, Joseph, Lynn, Kelly, Shaun, Jason, Michael, Jaylie, John, Seth, Noah, Bella, Matilda, Genevieve, Taylor, Lila, and Max. She also leaves several nieces, nephews, and extended family. She was preceded in death by a sister, Arline Rozankski and a great-grandson, Jeffrey Belmont.
     Ruth was born and educated in Worcester, a daughter of the late Anna (LeClaire) and Rufus E. Ham. She was an active member of Greendale People’s Church where she served on several committees through the years, including PROTO. Ruth enjoyed knitting, sewing, baking, and spending time with family. Her family extends their thanks and appreciation to all of the staff of Summit Elder Care Services and the Knollwood Nursing Center for the excellent care and support they provided.
     A memorial service will be held at Greendale People’s Church, 25 Francis Street, Worcester, Tuesday, August 13, at 1 pm. Burial will be private in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the “General Fund” of the Greendale People’s Church, Worcester MA 01606.
