Subscription Update Obituary

     Mr. Robert P. Kentel, 73, passed away Thursday, December 6th, 2012 at the Beaumont Rehab and Skilled Nursing Center.
     Robert is survived by his brother, Peter Kentel and his wife June of Southborough; his aunts, Josephine Verdilino, Clementine Etre, and Theresa Jason, all of Worcester; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Elizabeth M. Kentel- Brosnahan and also her husband David.
     Robert was born February 21, 1939 in Worcester, Massachusetts, a son of the late Peter and Christine M. (DePiro) Kentel.
     Robert was educated at Grafton Street Jr. High and graduated from St. Stephen High School. He served his country on the Navy carrier Antietam during the Vietnam era and was honorably discharged. Upon his return he worked for his brother, Peter, at Kentel’s Bakery in Hopkinton.
     Robert was an industrial tech for air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating. He worked at the Shirley Prison for the past twenty-seven years as the heating engineer.
     He was a Third degree member of the Pope John 23rd Council 5481, a former council advocate and member of the building committee, and a Fourth degree member of Bishop OReilly’s Assembly of the Knights of Columbus.
     Very few people accomplished what Robert did, which was being the recipient of Three Holes in One. Besides his love for his family, he was an avid golfer who enjoyed a low handicap and frequented many of the local golf courses.
     His funeral will be held Thursday December 13th from FAZIO FUNERAL HOME, 9 Branch St., Worcester with a Funeral Mass at 10 am at St Stephen’s Church of Worcester. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Wednesday from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The Knights of Columbus council will perform their ritual at 6:00 pm. IN LIEU OF FLOWERS, memorial donations may be made in his memory to the American Diabetes Association , 10 Speen St. Framingham, MA 01701. Funeral arrangements under the direction of Louis M. Fazio Jr. and Louis M. Fazio III.
